Events for Runners

Here at Ready Set Run we like to socialize and have fun! Throughout the year we plan events that center around having fun. All events are open to walkers and runners. We may start the walkers a little earlier to make sure they have enough time to finish the activity. Please check back and follow us on Facebook to get specific dates and details as the event date approaches. Below you will find a summary of our events and a general time frame.

Breakfast Run (late February) – You select one of our pre-planned routes that vary in distance. After the run, we provide a delicious hot breakfast as your reward.

Ice Cream Run (July) – You go out for a 3-5 mile run/walk (distance can be modified by turning around earlier). After your workout, meet back at the store for a cool treat. In 2014 & 2015 we served ice cream sundaes in mason jars with Ready Set Run logo that participants got to keep. Hmmm… what frozen treat will we be serving in 2016?

Poker Run (September) – Walk or run the 3 mile course and collect 5 cards along the way. When you get back to the store, we’ll staple your cards together and the best 5 card stud poker hands win.

Mystery Run (November) – This event is held to celebrate National Running Safety Month. Put on your reflective gear and some glow sticks and follow the clues as they lead you to different spots in Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg. If you follow the clues correctly and complete all of the challenges you will end up back at the store. Not familiar with the Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg area? Don’t worry, the clue givers are very helpful!

Trail Runs – Occasionally throughout the year we meet at different locations to go on trail runs. Specific details will be added as runs are planned.

River Ramble (November 13th) – The River Ramble Fall Classic is a great race that offers several event options for everyone. You can run a 5k or a 10k along River Road or participate in a 2 mile Fun Walk on the McDade Trail. This year’s event will begin at Smithfield Beach, River Road. Registration is limited to 500 participants.
